Nicky Sansby is based at Thorney Surgery.

She is responsible for running the finances of the business and general administration of the Practice.

Ruth Pinion, Debbie Dixon and Pippa Harnet Practice Nurses
The practice nurses run their own clinics, by appointment.

They perform all aspects of general practice nursing care, including health
promotion clinics.

They are happy to give advice on travel vaccination, smoking cessation,
weight control and contraceptive care.

The nurses perform the majority of the cervical smears.


 

Claire Smitheringale Health Care Assistant

Our HCA Claire runs her own clinics by appointment.

She performs the majority of blood tests, B12 injections, Spirometry and ECGs.
 



 

Sue Johnson Health Visitor
Sue can be contacted at Thorney Surgery between 9am and 10am on weekdays.

She will be happy to advise on all aspects of child health and development, and all aspects of family health care.


District (Community) Nurses
The District Nursing Team work in the patient’s home, when they are unable to get to the
surgery.

They give a wide variety of care, including dressings and the taking of blood.

The team is in constant contact with the doctors and can also refer patients to other agencies, including Social Services, Macmillan Nurses and the Continence Care Service, where appropriate.
 


Community Midwifery

The Community Midwifery Service operate clinics in both surgeries and provides most of the pregnancy care in uncomplicated pregnancy.

They may be contacted via the surgery.
